Leader: Ricardo Black Where: Fernandez Ranch: 1081 Christie Rd, Martinez, CA 94553 We will meet in the main parking lot off Christie Rd Time: 9am The hike will consist of approximately 4 miles, with a very hilly terrain. The adventure will take us through both Grasslands and Oak and Bay Laurel Woodland and through several trails with the first trail called Black Phoebe trail. This will lead us into Whipsnake Trail where we will ascend Woodrat Trail and back into the Windmill trail which will lead us back to the parking lot. Along the way we will be under the shade of a mix of different Native Oak trees and Bay Laurel. As well as many different native brushes and summer wildflowers like the Coyote Brush, Poison Oak, Hayfield Tarweed and Grindelias just to name a few. We will take a special interest in the Quercus species as we explore around the hills! There are bathrooms available in the main parking lot, and there is no running water. Things Suggested to bring: Hat, hiking shoes, hiking poles, refillable water bottle, snacks, sunscreen, tick/mosquito repellant,
